I actually got to drive one at Silverstone.
Was a 135hp version with the Caterham close ratio gearbox. Trust me, these things are absolutely MENTAL. On track that day where Lotus Elises, Ferrari 355's, some sort of hot hatch (nothing interesting there), our Caterhams and an R400 Caterhams.
The 135 Caterhams ROASTED the F355's, badly....
The driving experience was utterly intense. No slack in anything at all. When I say close ratio box, I mean it. Was hitting the rev limiter in 6th at 125MPH on hanger straight, and the action on it was like a rifle bolt.
I don't think I'll ever drive anything like this again...
