=) there were 83 subies that showed up.

    1st lap: 78.x seconds
    2nd lap: 74.x seconds
    3-5 lap: 71.x seconds

woo! for comparison, the fastest time was about 54s. not bad for my first time auto-xing. especially since i took first place in my class! (well, by default but whatever!

Congrats! my friends in CT do a lot of autocrossing. It is a motley crew of cars to. a 65 corvair, 04 A4, 88 MR2, and a 07 Speed3. last time I was down, they wanted me to run the car. I couldn't make it unfortunately, but I think i would like to try it. How tough was the course? Is it a difficult sport to get into?

the course wasnt too bad. there were 4 pretty tight turns. the rest of the course for the most part was just slaloms (cones you have to weave in and out of)

and its definitely easy to get into it. i had no clue what i was doing, but i had an instructor ride with me for my first run, and you also get to walk the course before hand and they will explain everything to you. the only thing you have to remember is to not compete with the other drivers (because half the time they have years of experience) just compete with yourself. try to get better times each run and beat your best time

I have a question for the autocrossers in this thread. I wanted to get into it this summer (didn't, short on time) but definitely next summer.
I'm really confused on the classes. I tried reading the rules but it's like 1000 pages of legalese. Do you just show up and tell them about your car (I assume they inspect it right) and then they put you in the correct class based on your mods?

Wrxextreme06 you and my GF need to hang out so she will want to autox with me!!!!

    HA!

As I've been told by one senior member of my local scca chapter: "Welcome to the addiction."

Take plenty of rides with others and make sure to make them ride with you.

Auto-x has been the most worth while thing I do with my weekends.
