In the season’s only back-to-back pair of events, the crews make the short hop across the Mediterranean direct to Corsica from Catalunya. The second asphalt rally in two weekends, Corsica is the most stunning of the year. Once nicknamed the rally of 10,000 corners, the tight and twisty routes that wind through the Corsican coastal mountains are well known for their steep drops and sharp hairpin bends. As, over time, portions of the route are resurfaced, there are a number of surface changes from new smooth asphalt to the original rough pot-holed tracks, making predicting the change in grip difficult. With the service park nestled into the Port of Ajaccio and the stages tracing the shimmering coastline, is it a spectacular rally and one of the year’s greatest challenges.
