    03 wrx back fires shifting gears

    hello all,just recently boughtan 03 wrx.but it has started back firing whie shifting gears.just one loud pop than all is fine.does it need the timing checked?or just a regular tune up?

    Turbo XS BOV, ERZ Down Pipe, ERZ catback, Cobb intake, Perrin Turbo inlet, Perrin Up Pipe, Walboro 255 fuel pump, Ultimate Racing 680cc injectors, gm boost solinoid, Exedy clutch, thermo tech turbo heat wrap, perrin light weight pulley,TGV delete's, 8mm intake manifold phenoic spacers, TXS racing FMIC, Tial 38mm wastegate

    it has an aftermarket one on it not sure the brand,it was on the car when i bought it

    your probly runnning rich and it wont be able to tune it out. the reason it back fires is cause unburned gas is going down you exhaust and when enough of it lays in the pipes it pops or back fires

    1. Get rid of the BOV and replace it with a stock BPV.
    2. Get EM to support those mods.
    3. Get rid of the intake and replace it with stock (not 100% necessary to get the car running right but the intake isn't doing you any favors either).
