yeah, even with uprated brakes on my old TT, it still made me a little nervous to dive into a corner, heavy on the binders.. they were weak, at best. Identical (stock for stock) to the ones on the 80hp-less, 500lb lighter NA version.. and they still sucked.

yeah it's funny they have the same calipers front and rear as the jdm 4/2 pots (not close enough to swap back and forth mind you), but the front rotors are shorter than even the stock WRX rotors (which are 294mm)- they (300) are thicker, but shorter than what they should be a for a car of that weight. he's looking into a setup that includes a bigger diameter rotor (same thickness) and simply relocates the oe caliper a little further out- supposedly guys have had good luck w/ this kit.

they did get aluminum calipers up front (at least a couple of years anyways) too

yeah the subie did stomp him but he ended up getting pulled over and we didn't i knew we wouldn't of won but when we did the 50 roll we kept up alright for a N/A,but the guy in the subie couldn't shift very well and would give up like 1/2 a car....but it was still fun.Oh and btw the last couple of guys that posted yall seem pretty cool, cause yall know the potential of 300zx's and didn't rag on it,i respect them just as much as a subie, they are both good cars.

    For the record i like awd's (hell i better i own a '88 celica alltrac) and i liked the '96 impreza 2 door i test drove,but i just can't let go of my toyota's(I have 4 different 80's toyotas)

cuz you were too slow! lol j/k

I love the Z32s, but both of mine had the dreaded fuel rail leaks, and the damned charcoal canister failure, where the car smelled strongly of raw fuel for the first 1/2 hr each time i drove it.

I try and stay informed and up to date on many various cars and their potential. I do quite a bit of hanging out at the local drag strip and speak to people about their various rides. Especially when they get into the 8's and quicker.
There are a few guys that bring 300's out and do pretty well. Some really nice aftermarket stuff for their application. Again, the weight sure does not help.

And the truck and trailer in your avitar are absolutely AWESOME! I am looking at getting something like that in the next few months. New ones are a little steep though.

Yeah the z32 TT can be made into quite the drag racer. It has no weakness in the powerband but like what has already been stated, traction issues. Still probly wouldn't want to match up unless you've had some decent modification.

However, the NA you should take in any WRX. They are nice cars, can be made to handle very well, are fun to drive, and turn heads around town but..... mid to high 14's is all they can do.

I am such an ego maniac that I will race anyone. What is the worst that can happen? Lose a few bills? But still have fun.
I like the best of three with no time between rounds approach.

I could swear Nissan homologated the Skyline brakes in the early 90s.

Oh, that is awesome! Ya just gotta love that kind of stuff.

I really like when people think their car is really hot stuff, and talk the talk, then they get in some pi$$ing match that unds up that weekend at the track. A true humbling experience.
Just goes to show, no matter where you are, there is always someone faster.

Stock for stock, a TT Z32 300ZX is about as quick/fast and handles very similarly to a MKIV Supra. They have equivalent HP and weight. One of the main differences is that the VG30DETT in the Z32 is in a much more cramped engine bay (and thus a ***** to work on) and takes a bit more modification to handle the power that a 2JZ can.
But like Rogan said, they are no slouch and can be a beast of a car. They look pretty damn good too.
