Essentially Topeka if I can go. I'm still working on all the PITA details of trying to make it out there.

Aside from that, Philly Region has our two day Hobert event coming up in little over a week. Then the next weekend is the PA State Championships in Hershey. This is why I can't make the Victory Meet.

    Lots of racing coming up.

FL = Finger Lakes = NY

The NE Divisional is up there this coming weekend. Our region also has our big two day event this weekend. Very poor planning by the NESCCA as we now basically have a NE Divisional North & South, both with only 100 people registered.

As an update, I've been working on some plans to get myself out to Topeka. They are going a bit slowly and I really need to get things planned out pretty quick.

I've also been giving some thought to what I need to do to finish the car prep. At the moment I'm quite happy with the car. I'm still tinkering a bit with alignment and tire pressure, but I don't think any racer will ever stop playing with those items.

Here's my current dream list of upgrades...

    Power:
    1. Header and uppipe - I'd love to do a Perrin EL header, but I'm pretty sure I can't swap to a 2.5L oil pan to do so. So, I'm probably looking at maybe a Borla UEL header, or I'm also giving serious consideration to GrimmSpeed's PnP OE manifolds. I really think they will flow about as well as a header and they will do a good job of holding in exhaust temps. Uppipe, TBD.

    2. Higher flow catback. I love my Borla Hush, but it is not quite free flow enough, and it is also HEAVY. I'm either thinking of going with Invidia's Race catback or maybe just getting a custom turndown fabbed up at a local muffler shop. I'm not really sure I would want to run the Invidia the entire time, and I could pretty easily swap out the catback for the shorty turndown at National events. This is a tough one.

    3. Intake parts? I don't know about this one. I seriously doubt I will get much gain out of this, but maybe a Samco turbo inlet pipe and either a Perrin AftaMaf hose or an actual intake. I think if I go intake it will need to be a CAI and I will get a custom tune for the car with the exhaust. I might very well just forget this crap.

    4. Custom STX toon. Once I get all the exhaust items worked out, I'd like to get a custom STX tune. Maybe even go a bit crazy and get a 100 octane race gas tune. That might be a bit much.

    Other crap:
Seats and a race harness would be really quite nice, but that is some uber $$$ and honestly the stock seats hold me in pretty well.

Any of you racin' folk have some ideas on the exhaust parts I should get?

I was a big fan of Chris Fenter's 3" exhaust that he had custom made... check the NASIOC motorsports forsale thread for pictures.

I think that the grimspeed stuff wouldn't be a bad option. I have heard too many issues with the aftermarket headers.... fitting, leaks, etc. You need a dead reliable car.

JR IMHO aftermarket EL/UEL Headers offer nothing significant for a STX car.

If you bought anything I'd probably look at the grimm speed factory stuff.

Or cheaper yet get some on to give you their factory headers that they took off for some upper register gain after market headers.

Remove the heat shields, port them, loose 12lbs off the nose, profit. Having them coated would be a bonus.

The tune, intake stuff can make gains and should be pursued. I would talk to people who have the familiarity with tuning for an ST* class. 94/100 octane not much difference. Mine's 94.

^ agree a P&P (coating if you have the dough) will net more power where you need it.

I've seen some pretty good #'s w/ a good ST tune- certainly worth exploring

do you have a harness now? if not look into the Schroth quick fit- once installed 30 seconds to hook it up, 30 seconds to put the whole thing in a box

Yup! A lot of that is why I haven't updated this joint in a while. I'll be getting an update together very soon.
