Just to throw out some numbers on gearing... the 235/40 has an OD of 23.4", 23.7" for the 245/40. That's a difference in radius/lever of 0.15", almost 5/32 of an inch, so it's about the same difference in OD as a fully treaded tire and one shaved to 5/32.

I didn't check TireRack for the 235/40, they had 11. I have 4 currently on their way. *whew*
So, it looks like Dunlop made up my mind for me on the 235 vs. 245 debate.
Dunlop is backordered in both sizes.
