I don't see what everybody is so upset about. It's just business. Insurance companies are in the business of assessing risks and charging accordingly. If there customers are racing, the risk of a claim goes up. It's not rocket science. You have to pay to play.

Shoot, Progressive won't even pay out when other drivers rear-end you, so this is just more fuel to the fire.

What angers me in this case is that SCCA has insurance to cover competitors. Someone is getting booted from a policy for engaging in an activity that does not require the coverage from the policy they are being booted from. Stupid.

The insurance company is covering their ass for the people that file claims for damage that occurred during an event. Something tells me the SCCA is going to replace a damaged bumper from an event.
