Who signed up for contingency $$?
No Yok or Subie in Solo... Just pro solo...

    TOTAL STUPID QUESTION...
How do I determine if helper springs are a good thing?
Have the suspension at full droop and if the springs are not seated use helper springs?

I've been buying from TireRack since the early '80's. Whish they offered stock...

From what little I know, helper springs are like spacers to take up the slack between your primary perches and springs so things do not rattle around. A long travel suspension and short, stiff, linear springs can run into this problem. They are nice when you pick up a wheel.

    nice course

yeah you have the right idea- if at full droop the main spring is unseated you want helpers

    DOH!

So there is a guy on NASIOC with some D/A Konis that seem to be a pretty good deal, so I am thinking I might sell my GC/Koni setup...

Someone buy it or tell me I am stupid!

I saw those too- if I was going double adj Koni I'd have a hard time not going w/ zzyzx'x new EM series- the guy has really put a lot of thought into this setup- worth reading through the thread at iwsti

your setup looks pretty good, clearly there are advantages to DA- enough justification to swap???????

read through his thread on the EM series- I don't think there is a trick in the book he hasn't incorporated into these- lots of attention to detail- worth the read even if you aren't considering them

I was very close to buying those DA Konis on Nasioc. That would be a very nice setup.

Yeah... the problem is I can't buy them unless I sell my SA Konis... I think I might ride out this season with the SA Konis... I can't justify putting the DAs on a Credit Card!

JR, what are you running instead???

Ok so I scored some Sparco Milano 2 Seats for a song! Which really excites me because i can now use a set of 5 point harnesses! I was looking at the P-car club of America DE rules. They say that you must use the stock seat belts unless you have a roll bar in the car. I was originally thinking about a Sparco Harness bar...

BUT I saw that SafeDrives.com has a "race car in a box" deal going for 500 bucks you get a roll bar, two harnesses, and roll bar padding. What do you guys think? Am I stupid for thinking about that in an STX prepped car? Even though I would really like them for the track day at the end of March...

The only thing I don't like is the loss of my back seat until I take the bar out.

Though I could always just keep the main hoop in.... and take off the reward legs and harness bar!

the Autopower roll bar is a pretty nice setup, but definitely not an easy in/out affair- I'd say once it's in, for all practical purposes it's in. to do it right (if you go that route) I'd have plates welded into the floor to bolt the "feet" into- someone posted up some pics- looked very secure

a harness bar however is a pretty easy in/out affair- of course it offers no real safety

I would have the plates welded in, and i think it would be worth the hassle to have a roll bar for DE events. I guess if it is a lot of work to take it out, ie more than 3 hours, then it will stay in. But I hate the idea of a harness without a main hoop

this is the one I've always liked- you can get the cross bar as a bolt in, but even w/ it removed still probably not the best idea for someone to be in the rear seat
