Calibration thing? I just got one of those stickers that goes in the door jam and says when the cluster was changed. Since it's in km's it is never going to be "legal" anyways

Ahh yes, I should have been more clear... KPH to MPH, I'm going to take a while to get to the whole conversion in my head.

    Teaser Shot:

Sooo, how do I tell if I actually got Group N top hat mounts? I scored some on NABISCO but cannot find any part numbers...

Here is what is getting bolted up tomorrow evening if it doesn't get wet here...

WRX Wagon Struts - give a bit more static camber
Koni Yellow Inserts revalved to my spring specs
Ground Control Adjustable Springs 450# 7" long front and rear
Race Comp Engineering Lowering Camber Plates up front
    Group N Rear Top Hats

    Assorted suspension bushings as well
Pro-Flex poly bushings in the trailing arms and for the rear bushing of the front control arm.
Whiteline offset front control arm bushings which are STX legal unlike the ALK.

What do you guys think of the TiC Unibombers Sexy Rearend?

Now I'm off to read Mike's suspension FAQ regarding ride height... My sedan has the saggy butt syndrome, so I can't go off of that for the stock heights...

the Grp N' ones will look identical to the oe ones- they use the same mold- just a firmer rubber- there is usually a paint dob on there somewhere which is the only difference- oe rear ones usually have a pink dob, the Grp N rears white or yellow

stock heights for the sedan are 396 front/376 rear (center of hub to wheel arch)- I'd shoot for ~ 25-35mm lower- I prefer even drops, some prefer a forward rake (more drop front vs rear), some a rearward rake (more drop rear vs front)- I think for autox most go for a slight forward rake

    You're Freaking KIDDING ME!

I got douped... these have pink paint on them...

    ARG!

I like even drops but a bit of rake forward isn't a bad thing either.

Now to install my UHaul trailer hitch, the guy basically gave it to me since they have had it since 2002!

double check on nasioc (there is at least one thread on Grp N vs regular and paint codes)

that would suck if he/she sent you regular ones

    nice

suggestion- camber -3.0 to -3.5 front, -1.5ish rear (it should be close to this already- no need to futz w/ rear camber unless cross is very whacked or your along way from -1.5)

toe- 1/16 -1/8" out front/rear- some prefer 0, I've found a little toe helps w/ turn in, rotation- respectively

are your front offset bushings in? curious to see what they added for caster

For $50, I would think you got the regular ones. GroupN new are $200 or more.

JR, they were used Ver 7 stuff... supposedly. I noticed that on the wagon top hats there were pink and white paint marks... and on my Sedan top hats they were also pink and white. My supposed group n top mounts were just pink.

Mike, thanks for those specs! I am thinking that I am going to set them that way and mark the camber plates. Then play with camber till I get 0 degrees of toe up front for the street.

First impressions: car is VERY well balanced with the white line bars. it turns like it is on rails even without an alignment of any sort. I have the Konis set to full stiff and it doesn't feel right going over bumps. it is hard to explain, it's almost a floating sensation, however on larger bumps it feels just right. I am VERY happy with the spring rates though I feel that they could be stiffer and I wouldn't have any problem with them as long as I could get some struts that could handle the spring rates. I set the ride height to a good guess with them off the car, the rears lowered ALL the way down and the fronts lowered about an inch and a half from the bottom of the ring. This produced a great ride level that I love, and is about 35mm lower than the stock settings. I was thinking about raising it up, but I think I might drive on it like this for a little while.

Alway, I'll up load pictures soon and I think I am going to start a new thread ala Mike.
