The duel between Marcus Grönholm and Sébastien Loeb, which has been ongoing since the beginning of the season, achieved new heights in New Zealand.

Both men fought each other off with fractions of a second here and there, with a final outcome being decided only upon the very last kilometres. With an advantage of three tenths of a second, the smallest gap ever recorded for a victory, Marcus Grönholm has claimed the 38th edition of Rally New Zealand.

Sébastien Loeb took second place, and Mikko Hirvonen's presence on the third step completes the podium. Grönholm is now in possession of a ten-point lead on Loeb in the drivers' championship. Things are becoming complicated for Citroën on the constructors' side of things as Ford has now pulled 40 points ahead.

Holy facking epic battle! Finally got time to watch the eurosport coverage last night.

So glad I was able to avoid spoilers. I could hardly contain myself watching day 3.

I highly recommend anyone who hasn't to grab those torrents, set aside a couple hours and watch.
