Word of caution on your tire pressure. If those tires ever grab hard out of the gate, say by-by to your trans. Really...you want some spin so be careful. I always found higher pressures worked better with the AWD, but this was based on me not wanting to break my daily driver also.

FYI, for those doubting the trap in 3rd:
Cobb AP raises redline (7100 or 7200 rpm..I forget exactly)
    3rd gear ration: 3.7
    Final Drive: 1.366
    45 Aspect ratio tires
    225 mm width tires

So...at 7K RPM, the car is capable of 102.89.

Speedo inaccuracies account for any sludge, but he has a timeslip, so this is irrelavant.

I would imagine thought that if try short shifting, you'll end up with a tenth or two knocked off and another .5 mph added on. If you are ending up in the top of 3rd, you are probably going to redline in 1st and 2nd. If you look at the HP/TQ curves, you'll see the best shift range is between 6600-6800 rpm.
For myself, I shift when it "feels" right, and this works best for me. Sounds like you are doing the same, as you can't deny the results.
im not doubting the trap in 3rd. i have a stg1 tune as of now and i start loosing boost around 6500 and by redline (7000rpm) im down to around 8psi. and i spoke with the guy that is going to tune my car next week and he told me that with the stg2 tune that i would be loosing boost around 6200rpm. so i was just wondering it your still holding peak boost around redline in 3rd? thanks.

I'll data log the next time I go to the track... then I'll figure out EXACTLY where I need to be shifting.. based off of boost, power and torque.

I'm not holding peak boost all the way to redline, but it's pretty close... I think 14psi in 3rd

    I'm still in 5th and 8th. (Should be 6th and 8th BTW)

I went to Atco a couple of weeks ago to meet up with some people, but didn't get any clean runs in. I did, however, get two crappy no-launch runs in. I've switched over to autox, so I doubt I'll be moving up on the list now.

Good luck with the autoz. Recommendation: Save your money for track days.....imho best money you can spend on enjoying your car's full potential.

    BSR Inc.

A full day screaming around a track as fast as your reflexes and experiences (and sometimes traffic) will allow. There is absolutely nothing like testing the true potential of your car and your nerves. You can only do this on a true track. Auto-x is a blast too, but for the cost when considering wear and tear on brakes and tires, a track day provides much more value (just my opinion).

    Cost $250.00

If you're protuned, you should be getting 12.8 or so. Up your PSI in your tires to 39-40 or so...little wheels spin will be great for you.

    Goodluck!

Thanks for the tips guys! Next time, I plan on running on tuned E85, or(most likely) just current tune and 116 octane gas, + 40 PSI on all four tires?

E85 may get you into low 12's! That would be fun! 116 octane will not make any major differences unless your car is tuned for it. The EGTs will be slightly cooler, but that's about it.

    Don't waste the 7.50 on 116 octane.

The highest legal street gas is 100 octane unleaded. If you're concerned about not getting pure 93 octane, you can add a gallon or two of 100... but I still think that would be a waste of money without a tune.

Try adjusting the L/C to different RPMs so you can find where you build the most boost.

    Google it.

Sunoco website had it last I looked. You have to order it by the barrel and have it delivered. Or...if you have a decently supported track (drag or road course) nearby, you can sometimes get it there.

Don't go sticking 116 in a mildly modded street car. Read up on proper race gas use before trying it out. It can turn into a huge waste of money.
