    Darrgh!

I just noticed a chip/crack in my windshield (I've had the beast for 4 months). Does anybody know any good places to get glass repaired in north NJ?

Call Safelite Auto Glass. They have changed alot of windshield for my family. They are cheap, and will come to you. Look them up in the local yellow pages.

I figured I'd get one of those repair kits to keep it from spreading until I could get it professionally fixed, but it turned out fixing it almost completely! I was amazed how good it was.

The product was made by Permatex (they also make NOS which was discouraging at first) and I reccommend it to anyone else unfortunate enough to have a crack.

It works great. I would take a picture but the damage never shows up so there's no point. But let me describe it like this:

Before: decent chip, crack that goes through the glass, about 3/8"-1/2" long.

After: chip is barely visible, but you can't feel it by running your finger over it. The crack is completely gone, except if you look from almost tangent to the glass you can see a razor-thin line on the INSIDE of the glass only.

Its a vast improvement over the before, ya know how cracks look sorta white when you see them from the side. $10 invested overall.
