then this install should not happen for another 6-8 weeks. i will dig up the thread on my next break here at work, but i am almost positive you need to remove the DP to get the UP on. there would be no sense in doing all that work, dealing with banged up knuckles, and replacing gaskets...twice.

THIS THREAD shows that DP removeal is not necessary, but unbolting it is. apparently it is much easier to just do it all at once, but not required. i guess that will leave this up to the OP.
