moving to the area

So I just got a job in nothern Delaware, and I'm wondering whats the best place to live? I'm young and single so Newark seems promising because of UDel, and I've heard Wilmington mentioned as well. Having only been to the area once I don't know about it, any pieces of advice on where to live? Thanks alot

My friend lives up in the Wilmington area, just moved north due to a job change. He used to live in Bear, DE. Wilmington and the surrounding suburbs can be nice, but be careful of where you look if you consider downtown Wilmington. There can be some not so nice areas there (just like any city). But the location to I-95 from Wilmington is nice, it'll get you to Philly in less than 45 mins, and down to Baltimore in about an hour or so. And it'll get you to the beaches in about an hour also. Nice location if you want to get around to other places. And the cost of living isn't too expensive, if I recall correctly.

I can ask my friend about suggested areas if you'd like, what city is the job going to be in?

Thanks for the reply! The job is going to be in Elkton, MD, so that's why I was looking around Newark since its very close.

If you want a slower paced town you can live in Bear DE. That's only a few minutes from Elkton (it'll save you gas $$ and time commuting). My friend who just moved had been living in Bear...nice area. Not really full of life like Wilmington, but its also right off I-95, and only a short drive up to Wimington.

Or you could live in MD. It's not a bad place, and there's quite a bit to do. I'm a little biased, because of my Baltimore love, but, I think that's what you're looking for. Abingdon, Edgewood, Bel Air are all OK places, but they're pretty much between your job and Baltimore.
