Well, here it goes. I found a 1995 Impreza coupe that I am extremely interested in located in Stafford, VA. I have been looking for a long time. I've been driving a 1996 Pontiac Sunfire for years, and I've been waiting for it to kick the bucket (beyond overheating, having electrical failures, and squeaking like a room full of guinea pigs). In the meantime, my stg2-bugeye-wagon-driving boyfriend (mr kooyulator.. I may have met a couple of you at a meet or something) began to teach me the ways of Subaru so that, when the fateful day came, I would be able to find the perfect one on my own. I shopped even while my car was in working order. In August, the day finally came when my brakeline exploded, and during repairs, it was discovered that my frame was starting to rot . It's taken many long days to convert my domestic-junky father into condoning the purchase of a Subaru (I'm in my last year of school and therefore still bound to the Domestic Regime), but it has been done. I've finally found one that does not involve any comprimise. The problem: it's 4.5 hours away.
If anyone in the Stafford area knows of a mechanic or subaru specialist (or IS one of these) that I can hire to go check out this car for me, please let me know. I trust this community and any assitance would be beyond awesome. I will pay whoever I find, we can negotiate something once I get in contact with them.
Also, if anyone has dealt with Car Quest of Stafford, VA... please let me know. Positive, negative, or friend of a friend dealings all welcome
I put a deposit on it. I would drive down to VA tomorrow to get this car, but I can't get anyone knowledgeable to sacrifice an entire day with the drive there/back. My boyfriend would be able to do it but he lives in Tennessee now, and can't help me out. No one else I know is knowledged enough specifically in Subarus, and I would rather that. Even my friend that owns a shop is too busy to go down so I am stranded. I have no problem getting to the car to pick it up, just not with someone who would be able to assist me. Having someone check it out for me would really be the best option. I'm really (overly) excited and (insanely) eager about being a Suby owner, and I don't want to make the wrong choice.
Any help would be great, and I can't thank you enough!!!!!
I'm looking forward to becoming part of the community
