The Test and Tune events are non-competitive and a good way to start out.

Can you just come out and watch to see if it would be something you would be interested in?

Yes spectators are always welcome. And even best yet with this club (cdc) you can actually ride along with people if you bring a helmet or borrow one from the club. It's a ton of fun. My gf will be co piloting with me on Saturday but if any of you come out on Sunday you're more than welcome to ride with me. I'm not at a point where I care about weight lol

Sad to see that the community has become a group of kids more interested in plastidipping their car and parking it in a parking lot than driving the car how it was intended. Let's change that. Bump.

Just finished the day @ CDC. What a rush! The course was laid out in a way that was technical. SUPER Technical. I think I was full throttle a total of 10 seconds out of the 50~ second course. The rest were turns. I am signed up for tomorrow too! Stoked to have a bunch more runs.

The atmosphere is really laid back. Everyone is super nice and helpful. A lot of people run with SCCA in various classes, but nobody is there to trash talk each other or try to compete. Every person I chatted with today had a chill attitude and just loved to drive their cars. It's a high octane adrenaline filled environment, but it's also very laid back and chill. Across the various clubs I've run with, this club is the most organized and the most laid back. Everyone is there to enjoy themselves and have fun. I didn't do great, and my tires were not great at 32dF this morning, so I didn't have the best time, but just riding with my friends and helping them improve, and then riding with people MUCH better than I and listening to their advice...was awesome. This course layout was more favorable to the miata in my opinion, but apart from that it's an excellent course for weight transferring and keeping speed up through the turns. It's awesome. Just pure legal fun. I'm stoked for the start of the season. I can't wait to see how I improve this year.

The reason I'm ranting is, autocross is awesome. It's not fast speed but it doesn't matter. It pushes you to the limits that you'll NEVER see on the street. Just seeing various people and cars run is awesome and it's so encouraging to keep on going. Every run I get better time, and I learn something new every time. I recommend it for anyone who is a car enthusiast.
