edit: i forget where it was, but a couple months ago, a parking lot meet was raided and almost all cars were impounded for having mods. It wasnt CA either.

not so much is it illegal, but theyre asking themselves why would you need this part for driving on public roads.

ps if you live in a rich, well-off county, there is no real crime to find..

They are illegal for STREET USE. They are available for you to do what you please, you can go ahead and use it for street use. But the technicality is they are for RACE USE purposes at the track.

Not to break any board rules...but you goto a head shop and they have pipes for sale in the cabinet, the sign says "for tobacco use only" now we all know tobacco doesnt always get put in there, but its not illegal for the seller or mfr. Its what the end user decides to use it for.

Again local laws take the toll.

There have been users in WI who were pulled over for having a FMIC and the cop threatened to impound the car for illegal parts.

State laws and cops view determine the outcomes.

That's the least of their problems. How about finding the rapists, child molestors & murderers first before going after so called street racers with stock cars.

In VaBeach, they closed down all the head shops for that exact reason.

I think they get profiled becasue street racers have casused many deaths and injurys to the racers and innocent by standers. Which to me, is just as bad as the local drug dealer. However it is a problem if the STOCK driver keeps getting harrassed for the same thing, when he does nothing wrong. They need some more probable casue before making the stop.

In used to get paced a lot when i had the WRX, but I did have a very loud exhaust and some exterior mods. I learned my lesson and have kept the z looking stock (except the wheels). I'd like to get a louder exhaust but I'm, not sure its worth the drama.

As much as I hated being pace/profiled, I did have illegal parts on the car and bought them knowing full well that they were. Cops are just doing there job.

I hear ya but when it comes to states like CA, and if you have a race car like that, prepare to have the funds.

I dont think Ohio is too strict on these types of laws anyways...
Probably nothing you need to worry about.
