It took us longer to get the turbo heatshield off then the up pipe

So many small rusted bolts on the hanger after hanger and heatshield after heatshielf

Oh yea doesn't help i was the only one that could break the bolts

I honestly remember Kenny getting off the majority of the bolts after Jeff loosened them up.

    No beer just pizza

We were smart about it though, i took over the turbo heatshield and dp mainly while jeff "supervized"

while kenny and Craig were trying to get the heatshield and o2 off the exhaust manifold.

We kinda met in the middle and all took off the DP which required some sawing because of a hanger in which the DP couldn't come off

    Then it was Pizza time

the up pipe was easy, well for craig and jeff who took the bottom two bolts as kenny and i ruined our hands on the top five bolts under the turbo.

We slid the up pipe up through the opening by the turbo which was fairly easy then slid the new one right in which was confusing but not complained about at all.

all in all a good day and a good learning process

when I did the downpipe, at first I didn't check the air ratchet so the first 2 bolts I removed I snapped off below the head. I was like "WTF boy these are rusted"

well it turned out I had the air ratchet set to tighten and not loosen

I'd usually agree but I think we "attacked" it about as logical as 4 people could have. Very little time bumping into each other and I dont think any of us did anything that hindered what the other was doing.

Not to mention for the first time doing a TBE it's not a bad idea to have a second opionon when dealing with the "do I have to remove this" or the "is there an easier way" questions.

    This thread is a classic
The first work i did to my car was header, up-pipe and downpipe install all at once.
It took just under three hours and i never looked under my car before=p

I hope to never have any nightmares like this with future mods=p

Taking the headers off would have been the easier way

+1 we went with the easiest way off not breaking more rusty bolts but the hard way to get the uppipe off though
