Your idea Mid-A meet would consist of....

After seeing a few get togethers fizzle pretty good here I decided to try and figure out what's the best of both worlds. Any/all comments are welcomed as long as they are Mid-A or even Tri State related.

I have a few questions just to get some idea of what people are willing/wanting to do for "meets".

How far are you willing to drive to get to a meet?

How long do you see yourself staying at a meet?

Is something interactive more likely to draw you to a meet rather then just sitting in a parking lot?

What is the likely hood of you bringing either a S/O or a friend to the meet.

Is a cruise a viable option and do you expect a cruise at the meet?

How long do you think you'd cruise for? (time wise)

If you are more out to go to a meet with some kind of interactive event (movies, go-karts, food, baseball field etc) what is your budget limit?

How much notice do you need to plan for a meet?

Do you prefer meets with the usual 10-15 people are do "Mega" meets work better?

What is the interest of getting a regular meet going? Probaly something like once a month or once every other month. We dont have to meet at the same location at all.

And finally if you were to plan a meet what would it be?

Just trying to get a feel for what people in this area are looking to do as a community. This is more of an information gathering attempt so myself and other people who are interested in trying to set up meets have something to work with.

If you have any other insight please offer it.

What about something in HoCo, even though I can't think of a meeting place off the top of my head. It tends to be in the middle of everything and means I won't have to go far

And I haven't really ever been to a real meet, but I can definitely tell you I'd like the 10-15 range. Notice isn't much of a problem for me either. If it's real local, a mornings notice for something that night would be substantial.

How far are you willing to drive to get to a meet? i have been to some tri-state meets, distance inside 75 miles are just about never a problem

How long do you see yourself staying at a meet? depends on the type of meet, very dependant on my schedule that weekend

Is something interactive more likely to draw you to a meet rather then just sitting in a parking lot? i don't do parking lot meets

What is the likely hood of you bringing either a S/O or a friend to the meet. 50/50

Is a cruise a viable option and do you expect a cruise at the meet? i like cruises, or at least a cruise TO the meet. we are a car club, we should drive

How long do you think you'd cruise for? (time wise) time does not matter and is dependant on the number of cars. more cars = longer cruise times for the same miles. i like the 60-90 miles cruises. it gives us time to get out of the city and to enjoy the country side before hitting our destination. all of the cruises i led have been about that distance

If you are more out to go to a meet with some kind of interactive event (movies, go-karts, food, baseball field etc) what is your budget limit? generally, $30, but exceptions will occur

How much notice do you need to plan for a meet? i like to have at least a week because of the many other responsibilities i have on a weekend

Do you prefer meets with the usual 10-15 people are do "Mega" meets work better? mega meets tend to be a hassle on a cruise, so the are mostly parking lot meets, which i don't do

What is the interest of getting a regular meet going? Probaly something like once a month or once every other month. We dont have to meet at the same location at all. sounds ok, but it depends on the activity. a regular meet would probably draw more interest than anything, if the people attending all liked the activity. word would spread and more people would eventually show

Why are you Mid-Aers always so snobby? What ever happy to INclusion, fairness, respect, love, peace and happiness? You guys probably don't even wave to other Subie drivers unless their tag says they're from a the Mid-A, huh?

mileage? ehh. Time? maybe an hour, hour-n-a-half at tops
How long do you see yourself staying at a meet?
As long as it's enjoyable, somewhat nice, and free from immature driving.
Is something interactive more likely to draw you to a meet rather then just sitting in a parking lot?
    Not necessarily.
Good people/conversation can be the interactive.
What is the likely hood of you bringing either a S/O or a friend to the meet.
Highly. Im sure the wife would love to get away from the kids once in awhile! :P
Is a cruise a viable option and do you expect a cruise at the meet?
Not expected, but as long as it's well organized, I'm down with it.
How long do you think you'd cruise for? (time wise)
Depends on the route, and view. Like, a cruise down Skyline Drive could go for hours, if the weather/scenery is right
If you are more out to go to a meet with some kind of interactive event (movies, go-karts, food, baseball field etc) what is your budget limit?
Is it close to payday? Will I have my engine completed by then? lol
    if it's worthwhile, 40-60/couple maybe?
How much notice do you need to plan for a meet?
Do you prefer meets with the usual 10-15 people are do "Mega" meets work better?
Megameets aren't as personable, but pose huge quantities of eye-candy, metal and flesh Con: lends itself for a unruley outcome. Remember, good turnouts make for more good turnouts.

What is the interest of getting a regular meet going? Probably something like once a month or once every other month. We don't have to meet at the same location at all.
I'd be interested, but weather/distance can play a huge role.

And finally if you were to plan a meet what would it be?
Movies, IMO, kinda blow, because that's not really "meeting".. That's more of a "hey, hows it going? See ya in a couple hours" type of deal. Now a drive-in, that'd be hotness. There's one out by winchester (Stephens City) that we frequent.I can see it now - 5 rows of Subies, lined with lawn chairs and popcorn! lol

Just trying to get a feel for what people in this area are looking to do as a community. This is more of an information gathering attempt so myself and other people who are interested in trying to set up meets have something to work with.
