Well its fast to me cuz its an upgrade from a slamed truck but i can take stock new gt mustangs and some other stuff and it will run a 9.3 in an eight mile stock. but i love it and as far as tranny probs. none that i know of. i've only had it for like 9months. but the 06 has like 20 or 40 more hp.I raced one and he beat me by like a car or two.
Well i have done alot of snow driving to go skiing and it is an amazing snow car. But in town just excpect to do a little more cluch work than a normal manual car. But cluches are only 400 dollars and you wont nessesarly need a new one for a long time.
i would def get a 2006
Well i love my wagon and i hate to see her go. It is true that the 2006 or 2007 2.5L has a much better power curve and from what i have read is a more desirable engine. My 2.0L feels like it has any torque untill 2700 rpm(this makes city driving hard). The only other real differences are headlights and tail ligts and that the newer wrxs(2005 and up) are all controlled by computers, so everything from your heater and fan to your throttle are oporated by servos. That is why i bought a 2004 because they are slightly easyer to work on. The only things that i have done to my car were to put in a boost guage and a SR*S cat back. But i am going to be taking that off and selling it becaus it is to loud for my tast(I only bought it because of the price lol).
Wow I wish I was snowboarding in CO the conditions in NH are ICEEE! Regarding the wrx vs. sti for commuting to the mtn. the first thing that would bother you is the lack of a fold-down divider in the back seats in the STi. It was nice in my WRX to flip that down and put a couple boards in from the trunk. Now I have to lay them diagonally across the back seats. Also keep in mind the stiffer suspension over bumps can be a bit uncomfortable but so can body roll in corners I guess everything has its ups and downs lol. Sometimes I wish I kept the old Rex but when summer rolls around and the STi is waxed and clean I wouldn't trade it for anything else. Hope this helps!
