Hey
I used the 3M head light restoration kit you need a drill to use the kit. For the most part I followed the instructions that come with the kit, they are straight forward. But I would wipe the lenses with shop paper more often then the instructions say just spritz some water on them and wipe. Cheap water bottle like .99 at home depot. 04 main he'd light is round and sticks out far. I used the drill as much as I could on the face of the lense but when the lens meets the flatter part of the lens I hand sanded it with the pad. Only reason is you don't want the drill to bight into the lense. Also hand sanded the upper outer corners cause it narrows to a point.
Other tips
1. thin 3m car tape is good enough just tape all around it's worth it
2. Keep your hood closed. The sanding will spray some slurry. If you have a clean engine bay then keep the hood closed
3. Don't rush, the first few pads you use set up the rest to better.
Hope that helps.
