Geez, so your into a tranny 6 grand huh? Thats almost ridiculous from my point of view, you say that your old transmission broke because you put a stage one clutch in it. Was it just to much for the transmission to handle or what happend? So i guess my dreams of putting in a new transmission is just gone out the window..

Hey man whats up, I got some questions for ya, you seem to have some extensive knowledege about these cars i was wondering if you could help me make a decision. So like a lot of other people im having the 1st and 4th grind. Ive been reading these forums religiously for the past few days trying to figure out the most costly and effiecient way to solve the problem. My question is, what is the real solution? Ive heard people swear by neo synthetic gear oil, as others swear that it will deterorate your synchro's. Ive heard people say the only real way to solve the problem is to drop an STI 6 speed gearbox in, but along with it you'll have to upgrade a lot of drivetrain components, some people say RA is the way to go, but after reading a horror story about that im not sure? PPG sounds good to me but how much does this all cost? I own a 2002 WRX, its got 64k miles, B.O.V, intake, and cat back exhaust, so its pretty stock still. Im looking for a real solution to the problem while trying to spend somewhere in the neighborhood of 2 grand installed. So can you help me decide what to do or is all of this just personal opinion? Im not looking at doing to much more to engine upgrades, maybe a lightwieght flywheel, a stage 2 clutch, and a boost control down the road. My overall goal is to have good performance, but unsurpassed reliability and drivability. Thanks for your time.
