Just got these Amp One's at the local Les Schwab dealer. Don't know if I love 'em or hate 'em compared to the stock rims, but I'll decide I like them or they'll be in my next garage sale.

No offence, but I would have to put them in the next garage sale.
They make your tires seem huge. That is if they are the stock size.

They are stock size (16") for two reasons. One is that I live in a mountain range where there are lots of rocks on the roads hiding in the shadows, and the second is that it seemed dumb to toss the new tires that came on the car. Finding 16" rims that I didn't ab****ely dislike was a real chore. I played in photoshop to try and get an idea of what might work, and got so sick of looking at rims with five spokes (which would be most of them), that I wrote all of those off, leaving me with very few options. A lot of the darker colors that look good in the larger wheels, would probably look lame in stock size and/or on a silver car. At this point, I'm thinking I may just have to go for some 17s because there are a lot more options, and take my chances with the sneaky wheel busters around here. Since I got the car three months ago, I've hit one nice rock and one 2x4 (lots of lumber mills around here too). I'm pretty sure having some tires saved me on those deals and 18 inchers are definitely a bad idea in this area.

The only reason I posted these pics really was that the person who started this string has a platinum 04 and was trying to get ideas. I think it would be way easier to find the right wheels for a blue car or a black one.

I love my Hyperblack Rota Torqes!
They hide brake dust and take all the abuse I can give them.
And only $700 for the set!

Those Rota Torques DO look nice on that STI. They look just about as mean as that hood scoop and wing, which is perfect. That's a badass looking car. Nice job. :-)

Okay, so I spent another day at the tire place, got rid of the first set of wheels, and put on these 17" gunmetal ADR Type 53's. Now THESE I know I like. The silver ones I decided I "hated with a passion". Ha! Shopping is not my thing.

Much better subie dog. How the heck did you get the wheels changed out so fast??? By the way I know you dive on a dirt road or whatever but bring that puppy down a weeee bit & it will really finish it off.

Looks great though, & I like those wheels better.
