At first I was like but now I'm kinda like . Sad that the hoodscoop's gone though.
Definitely scores points for creativity!
How did they do that? And I wonder if that's a decent solution for the common "subaru swirls n' whirls" paint problem. I would think it would help protect against dents, dings, and bird poop.
I guess that would make cleaning it a lot easier. You'll save $ on car washes, wax, etc. It's like a nonstick car.
grrr...work filter....all's I see is a red X

if it's a dedicated racecar I like it.
It reminds me of the flat black spray painted STi I saw in a magazine a while back.

LET'S GO COLTS!!!
I have 5 infraction points. What do you have?
There are companies that have what they call Zero luster clearcoat. It is like a standard clear, and protects the same, but is totally flat. It actually has a lower coefficient of friction than standard clearcoats. Quicker through the air, expecially in high humidity applications. Although benefits on land are very small, (almost unmeasurable), boats use it and coatings similar and have huge results. A standard flatbottom v-drive boat will see around 7 mph at 100 with this type of paint over perfectly smooth and polished bottom. It is getting more common in the paint world, to give a different look to custom paint jobs.
From looking at the diamondplate bolted to the hood, my guess is this guy is not the pinnacle of high tech, but that is what black looks like when you spray zero luster over it.
Can't say it looks good, but it does look different. Not the same ole'
*edit* My mistake. He actually says that it is bedliner. WOW! I don't know what to say.
Does he have it on his TA in the background?

Well, I gave it a try, but I'm not going through the rest of the 12+ pages of flaming in that thread. So, cool concept and I like it. I'm still curious if it weighs it down. But that is an awesome idea for a rally car! I wish the pictures still worked in the original post.Originally Posted by C89ZX7R
