D50 is a great camera for the money. One reason I went with the D70 was because I was given the impression that the kit lens was better. In retrospect, I might have been just as well off to just get the 50 and use the difference to buy a really decent prime lens. I'm a little disappointed with the sharpness of the 18-70mm that came with it.
Ok heres a few from the ALMS race today. I didn't process them or anything. Its hard to take pictures at Laguna Seca, it seem everywhere I went there was a safety fence right in the way of the picture. Almost all of the pics were taken up high at a 15x zoom or more which made it very difficult to keep steady without a tripod.
Okay, here's another attempt at HDR processing. Took the pic(s) on a trail off of the Blue Ridge Parkway in the NC mountains. Used a tripod, took a metered shot, a +2EV, and a -2EV. The -2EV got the clouds, and the +2EV got the stonework nicely. F22 in aperture priority. Gives it kind of a "painted" quality.
