Where was that taken? Looks like it could be the Springs?... Pikes peak in the background?
You can't have everything - where would you put it?

Great pic man! Were you snapping shots quickly to catch that? Like sports continuous mode?

Thank you very much. It was a pretty amazing display. We're lucky to see a thunderstorm once a year here, so I had to get out and shoot it.

Actually, it's very simple. Just use a long exposure with the camera mounted on a tripod. I shot a series of these between 15 and 30 secs each. These are edited, so it was much darker than it looks. So dark, I couldn't see anything well enough to focus on, so this one is totally out of focus. Oh well....

Still pretty killer shot, even with the houses out of focus. When I'm doing night shots I usually crank the ISO to maximum and use Live View with exposure simulation on to at least let me see some shadows, then I use the 5x or 10x zoom on the screen to manually focus. Then drop the ISO back down to a reasonable level.

Anyways, here's my contribution for the day. Went dirt biking for 4 or so hours today in the rain... managed to get a couple shots in between all the puddle hunting.
