    cheers
Not trying to start anything one way or the other here but I just have to comment since it's rare that there's any negativity on this forum. I probably would have taken your advice as eluding to the fact that you felt you could have done better. Then it sure sounded like you were critiquing when you said this...

Look at all the people in front of Ray in that image. Are they all also lousy photographers because they want to capture a memory (and in at least one case a childhood dream) using a point and shoot? They're there to save a memory, not create art. Ray, I think the picture's good under the circumstances and I'm glad the family was able to live one of your earliest wishes. One day I hope to catch a launch as well.

That being said I have looked at your website and you're pretty good. You've spent the time to hone your skills and it's paid off. I'll post up some images in the near future and wouldn't mind hearing what you think about them. I'm still amateur status but tryin'.

It was truly awesome when the sound hit us nearly a full minute later. The air actually shook back and forth, and a car alarm went off on the street behind us.

A childhood dream; I've wanted to see a shuttle launch for nearly 30 years.
Awesome...Im going to a shuttle launch in July, cant wait

    1. In my first post, where was I negative or did I say his 'Snapshot' was bad, sucked, or HE specifically needed HELP ?
I was just posting a technique that could help him and others IF they wanted to take it.
It was NEVER pointed AT him.

    2. This IS a photography forum no ?
Do you and others NOT read this to learn ?
    Hence my post.
I would guess that 95% of the people on this forum would NOT know how to expose something like this correctly.
Or as in my example of the moon, it's RARE that anyone knows how to do that correctly.

I was never being negative in anyway, until I was told by the OP to "chill, it's just a Snapshot thread man".
Hence my reaction to the tone of ' Snapshot, so I guess we don't need to worry about technique, composition, whatnot'.

Don't worry, I certainly won't offer any advice unless it's asked.

Have I honed my skills ? Yes.
If you want to see other work, watch the hit tv show Cold Case on CBS as I photograph that show as well.

    Cheers.

It's ok dude...chill. It is just a Snapshot thread WITHIN a photography forum...people are more than happy to see other skilled photographers give hints and techniques. If you want to post up a thread specifically for "Properly Exposed photos Only" then by all means, go for it

    oh trust me, I'm chill.

I'm eating breakfast with my two year old twin girls and my 3.5 yr old son.
Enjoying the last day off I have before going back to work on my tv show.

I'm in NO way bent out of shape trust me.

YOU are still NOT seeing my point.

my original post was NOT aimed at the Point and Shoot photo of the shuttle.
It was just a proper technique post for ANYONE that wants to shoot it correctly.

    I'm out....... cheers.

How do you thread those photographs together so seamlessly that the show appears to have been video taped?

And your egomaniacal sarcastic holier than thou grandstanding doesn't impress anyone nor is it embraced here. I saw right through the context of your first post, it was delivered and held the crystal clear intent of "I'm the ****, now watch me impose my technological jargon to put this guy in his place."

If you were MERELY trying to give advice, a proper "Hey let me give you a couple FRIENDLY tips" would have been greatly welcomed I'm sure. Perhaps you should take a few verbal etiquette lessons on the proper methods in which to interact with people in a productive manner.

You were called on it immediately and are now throwing up your over defensive mode. Deep down inside...no you were not "chill" brother.

Don't screw with the established members of this board...esp Rayfield. Rayfield is the ****.

Oh and P.S. , we understood the first time you told us you work on a television show...please spare us the further absorption of your ego by continually mentioning it in a feeble attempt to further credit your douche-esque attitude.

Hugs, peace, sunshine and ****ing rainbows brother. I think we're all better now.
