I do too. I just need to find more "seasoned" wood to burn. I've got a cord of it now, but it was cut in the spring, so it's not completely dried, causing too much creosote, as well as sometimes difficult to burn. When it's burning just right, my electric bill drops about 100-150/mo., which is awesome.

the highlights seem a little blown out and there is a slight red tinge to the entire shot. try shooting something with a bit more natural light btw, what program did you use to combine / tone map the image?

    Photomatix (trial)

Yeah, i noticed the redness throughout, as well..

I think this is ISO800 with only a small chandelier for room lighting.

when your trial runs out im sure i could get you a serial, if need be

but i have never had much luck with indoor HDRs. so test your luck outside tomorrow, and try to find something with lots of different colors. i'm sure you've seen it before, but this is one of my best HDRs from when i was first starting. i havent done many lately...

    That looks good!

I'll try to find something more colorful to take a picture of, tomorrow, provided it isn't gloomy and overcast, as it was today (not to mention low 30s..)
    Thanks!

    I had it set on
    Auto ISO
    -.2, 0, +.2
    Ev -0.7S
    f/5.6
    4 meter shot through 18-70mm

And Janeta - open teh eyes..

I currently have the same problem. It can take quite a while to get a good fire going sometimes. But they are amazing. Keeps the house nice toasty, keeps down the heating bills, and makes my cats happy.
