I've been contimplating buying a wide angle for my panasonic fz5. I can find them between $40-$80. Is it worth it?

It was a lovely 80 degree day here in sunny southern california so my friends and I went to the ice arena picked up some snow, took it to a park, and snow shredded a bit.
