    It's a Tamron 70-300mm 1:2 macro lense

    Yep, those are some nice results.
    I'm currently borrowing some 300mm Nikkor glass from a friend; I've been tempted to take my tripod out and try some moon shots.

    every filter i tried produced a sort of ghost reflection of the moon, so this is completely sans filter
    just lots of tinkering with manual settings and patience
