Metro train - Wash. DC

It's always a treat for a Detroiter to go to a city with a nice Public Transportation system. We're always asking ourselves, "Why can't Detroit have a good pub. trans. system?!?!" I can think of 3 reasons.

Anyway, here's a metro train I shot with the 10-22. ISO 1600. Perspective/Distortion corrected in Photoshop

Nice shot, I was just back up in DC (where I lived for 15 years or so) two weekends ago at that very same stop. If you walked behind where you were towards the wall you'd have possibly seen the flourescent bulb my friend broke while drunk during his bachelor party. LOL

Either way, it is a nice shot, I never thought of taking a picture inside the tunnel while I was up there.

The reason that DC can have such a nice Metro is that it's pretty much indirectly subsidized by the federal government. Most federal agencies supplement their employee's pay by funding public transportation. There's no other city in the world that can compete with that business model.

Great shot!!! It really captures the feel of the DC metro (one of the cleanest and well kept trains I've ever been on, especially compared to the subways in Chicago).
