I know most of you big baller photographers buy all your stuff off the shelfbut I was wondering if there was a good place to shop for used stuff. I'm probably getting a DSLR at the end of the year and wanted to see how feasible it would be for me to get into a D200. TIA guys...

+1, although I've never found a lens I was looking for on there. I think I just have bad timing.Originally Posted by dsel
B&H also has a decent used selection...I got my 85mm f/1.8 from there for pretty cheap.

...and to think, I went there on your recommendation. You definitely are more discriminating, and I guess they might have more Canon than Nikon.Originally Posted by Verdugo

also, try checking the for sale forums on www.photography-on-the.net (although they are more Canon specific) and www.fredmiranda.com

Tim,
I've bought and sold equipment on the the two sites listed below with excellent results. They are both run, supported and frequented by professional photographers who know the value of equipment without trying to rob potential buyers (ala eBay). Their equipment is generally professionally maintained and in all of my cases, have been received as advertised at a fair price. I can recommend these sites to you with confidence, otherwise, I would mention them. While sportsshooter.com is open to the public for viewing, some sellers will only allow their ads to be seen by members of the site. Should you see an item that you're interested in, contact me and I will help.
Peace,
Curtis

<---want's to buy a D2Xs![]()
I may be looking for a used D70 in a few months but I'm afraid I was too optomistic in wanting a D200 now. If I could make money on the photos, not blackmail, I could justify a D200 but I just shoot for me. Thanks for the links guys![]()

Try the Cameta Camera store on ebay. They sell alot of factory demos that were used by salesmen as demos and have basically no use on them and are in perfect condition. I bought my D50 with 2 lenses there for 620 shipped and the same exact camera package on RitzCamera.com was $950. They send all the factory demos back to Nikon to be inspected and repackaged so the camera and all the accessories are in sealed packages and in original boxes with all instructions and even a 1 year warranty.
