    Anyone heard of the Canon Powershot A700?

    I am looking for a digital camera in the $300 range and the best one that seems to be popping up everywhere is the Canon Powershot A700. It seems like the most bang for your buck camera wise. I am not a proffesional photogropher, I am just looking for a good decent camera that wouldn't be a waste of money buying.

    Any opinions or sugeestions regarding the Canon Poweshot A700 or others?

    From what I have seen, the A700 is a very good camera blowing away higher end cameras in it's price range. It gets less grainy pictures because it has a larger sensor than the tiny point and shoots like Canon's SD series.

    I have shot the A700 in a very dark part of our equiptment closet at work and the noise was under control with good highlights and shadows in the image.
