Very first attept at photography.

I was walking around the neighborhood this afternoon and happend to have my 7.2 mp Casion exilim ex-z750 (point and shoot compact camera) and decided to take a few shots and play around with the scene selector mode. Anyway, after taking and reviewing these shots I have relized that I may have an interest in photography. So I'll present these for your review and comments. I will hopefully be purchasing an DSLR shortly if my interst remains.

Mother nature did most the work on this one. I wish the houses were not their.

Low light mode. Love the contrast or depth. (whatever the Photography buffs call it)

I will edit that stupid light at the bottom right corner.

Dead pine trees. Spooky.

Anyway, these are straigh off the card (slightly compressed) . Any comment would be welcomed and apriciated. (That includes you armin)

BTW: Regarding the quality of DSLR's vs my camera, would these pictures have turned out much better if I had an expensive dslr. Is it woulth the grand or so I would spend on a fancy camera?

2 and 3 can be deleted

1 has a nice sky and is pretty good exept the horizon is crooked
4. is a good silhouette attempt. i would shoot it vertical.

yes a Dsrl will make a huge diff. no noise, much sharper, and better colors.

kind of like this, alittle PS and you can have some sweet colors and bw

Those are some beautiful pix. Reminds me how bad I need a new camera. BTW I love the dead tree.....it's so "Edgar Allen Poe"
