The XP drivers / software might very well work. Have you tried them?

Hey,
Is there an available driver out online that allows pictures to be downloaded from a Kodak digital camera to a PC running 2000 Professional....that ISN'T the P.O.S. Easy Share?
XP will automatically find and download the pictures (i.e. does not require Easy Share to be installed for you but 2000 seems like it wants to be a huge PITA.
I would greatly appreciate it if someone does know where I can find a FREE, non-Easy Share driver for 2K pro. Thanks!

One word: Google
This is for work laptops. Three of my supported laptops still have 2k Pro. They won't get XP until they get new laptops issued (hopefully soon), but in the meantime, they need to download pictures and I'm trying to avoid having to use the Easy Share software.Originally Posted by 04.SPT.WRX
I should have been more specific in what was happening and what I need it to do.
The XP 'drivers' won't work because it's just the Easy Share software for XP. With XP, you can just hook the camera up to the USB port and the Office Picture manager wizard pops up and you can transfer the pictures with that...i.e. you don't even have to have Easy Share installed.
With 2000 Pro, it won't just open the Office Picture manager to 'plug and play' download the pictures. It opens up the 'Found New Hardware' wizard and 2000 doesn't have the drivers for it...Easy Share must be installed. I hate Easy Share. It's not really necessary, plus it's a resource hog...add that to 2K Pro, which is also a resource hog, and you get double the resource hog.
One word: I did an extensive search on Google and came up with exactly Jack Schitt, that is why I posted this on here. Google is my home page. Believe me, I'm very familiar with it.Originally Posted by turbeauxrex

Isn't the 2K version downloadable? 2K is OK - way better than 95 / 98.Originally Posted by mike05STi

So google couldn't provide you with an answer, and you expect a handful of car enthusiasts to have one for you?Originally Posted by mike05STi
