Why do Mustangs of that era have kinked shifters? I seem to remember my friend's Focus was like that too.

Wow great car! I wanted one of these so bad back when I was in high school. Luckily for me I didn't get one, because I probably would have wrapped it around a tree living in Maine!

I've got a 2002 GT and can attest to the questionable ergonomics in that car and yes, that's exactly what the kink is for.

The WRX (even the 2015) and STI are plagued by understeer and, despite having a small aluminum 4-cylinder, still manages to have a worse weight distribution than the Boss 302 S197 Mustang.

444HP, 0.96G lat accel, 0-60 in 4.2, quarter mile in 12.7@114 and the thing even bests the STI at hwy cruise at 26MPG. Those cars are no joke in a straight line and around corners and should be respected.

And FWIW, my 02 has a few go-fast parts including a Kenne Bell twin screw and I don't worry about blowing the stock shortblock on that thing up as much as I do breaking ring-lands in my near-stock STI.

    Just sayin'.

Sorry but all I was saying was that I am glad I didn't have one when I was in high school because I live in Maine and I would have been an idiot and drove the car in the winter. I don't care what anyone says, but a mustang in the snow is a death trap. Just sayin. But I don't want to take away from this thread with bicker. I think mustangs are great cars, and this cobra is sweet!

I replied to lytlec's meme showing a Mustang that'd hit a tree with the text "tried cornering once...", not your post.

No need to get offensive. I like mustangs. I purely posted because he mentioned about wrapping it around a tree and I had a picture of a mustang wrapped around a tree and I found it fitting. I was in no way saying mustangs are bad handling cars. So let's move on from this and get back to the Terminator.
