    2013 WRX SE, completely stock, except for the mats.

    It's been done. What you really want is an EJ22 Phase II. EJ22-powered GLs are impressive.

    Not really. EJ22 Phase II motors only had 140hp, but they were torquey (due to the small port volume) and reliable. An excellent choice for a GL wagon built to brave the world off tarmac.
