Toyota 4 Runner .... my other toy

my '98 4 Runner Limited, bought it new and as of today she has 42,654 original miles. I've always had multiple cars, and what I refer to as "winter beaters", so this thing sits during the winter months. I also had an '87 IROC Camaro that I owned for 19 years ... SOLD it with just 20,200 miles on the clock.

I love 4 runners. They're so easy to make last too. You can tell who takes care of their cars when they come in for service. I've seen newer 4Runners in worse shape.

I have lots of fond memories of my '87 4Runner, which served as backpacking vehicle and sometimes daily driver for about 9 years. Purchased used, abused, back end blocked up 2 inches...the thing had no power at all, but simply wouldn't die. To date, still the most reliable car I've ever owned.

I'd love to have a Hilux Surf with the 1KZ-TE (3.0L turbodiesel I4). Great mileage, reliability, and 253 lb-ft of torque.
