This is a discussion on New wheels & Should I paint my calipers? within the Member Show-Off & Photography forums, part of the Community - Meet other Enthusiasts category; Yes.. Do it... I painted mines silver and they turned out awesome....
Yeah I'm thinking of doing the same thing. Just need a decent amount of time on a weekend to do it. Although I may paint mine red....too flashy on an all-black car?

Thanks, they went on clearance a while back so I bought 5 of them. Also, the TMPS that tire rack sells is fully plug and play with our cars computers. As for the color I wanted to do red initially but I did the paint to protect the caliper more than to make it look go fast. However it's a personal preference; in the end all that matters if that you enjoy your car.

Back when I got my car (2 yrs ago) I planned to paint the calipers red - then several forum members warned against it. Best point was that unless you go topend and get them professionally powdercoated, they will stop looking good rather quickly. I worked with a guy who had done it, and sure enough within six months normal wear and road grime had turned them into unsightly, peeling messes. Glad I avoided doing it.
That said, a metallic color like the OP used may work better, as the wear will be far less obvious. If you do it, be ready to redo them often to keep them looking good.

word, everyone said the same thing about red. The way I saw it was that the OEM calipers are so under sized painting them red would only highlight that. So I went with silver so it would look more stock. The guy that did it for me did a grind, primer, couple of coats and three coats of clear but I'll try to give a review of how it holds up after my scheduled track events.
