a few pics of my 2011

I've been looking for a good location to take some pictures of my car and haven't found one yet. I thought one of the parking structures where I work might be nice...and it may still be. Just not at the time of day I was there. Too much light coming from all around...too many reflections etc...

Anyway, of the 15 or so that I snapped, this was the only one I thought was decent:

I love parking garage shots. You'll get the hang of it man. Just an idea( things I look for in a parking lot shoot) but sometimes next to the ramps that lead up to the next levels are good to have in background since it gives your pic "more lines". I also like turning up some filters to show the detail in the floors...you can see the "swirl" marks in your pic but can make them pop even more. If you don't have any editing software (photoshop(cs6) or Lightroom) you can usually find them on Craigslist (where Zax finds his gf"s) for cheaper than a case of beer.

Thanks for the tips. You can probably tell from the photo, but I'm actually standing up on one of those ramps that you just mentioned in this picture. I'm gonna try again in the not too distant future. Maybe I'll go all the way up to the top around sunset, or just try inside at a different time of day.

I'm lucky enough to have the adobe suite, so no problems there. In the image above, I didn't go crazy with anything. I just separated the car onto it's own layer and then desaturated the background a tiny bit and adjusted the levels on both layers to make them more natural. What kind of filters do you play around with on the parking garage shots to make the floor pop? Just contrast settings?

Another pic from the same session.

Haven't had a chance to take anymore pictures yet. But I've scouted some decent locations.
