It's been at least 10 years since I've been to the drag strip, so this was a learning experience! Especially since I used to run a Mustang. So high torque, rear wheel drive is all about wheel spin. This car was all about keeping it from bogging off the line.
I went fairly easy on the car, and still managed to get a 1.9s 60' time. ET was 13.8 @ 98.6mph. That was fun! Doubt I'll ever do it again, but my brother was wanting to run his 2011 Mustang GT so I figured I might as well do it once!
The car I'm lined up against here is some crazy Dodge Caliber with slicks and a ton of work. He ran a 13.1 @ 110mph! Didn't catch me until halfway down the track, though =)

Yep! Don't really think I'll be modding the powertrain on this car.
Not bad, especially considering you're not used to the drag strip.Originally Posted by SamXp

Cool, what did your bothers Mustang run? I'd really like to run against a new stock 5.0 because I think it'd be very close.

that is awesome! zmax is awesome! nice that is right in our back yard!
Thanks! There were three very frustrating runs where it just bogged down.
He couldn't get it to hook up so his best was 13.02@110. Definitely should be able to get down to the mid 12's on street tires so he'll be back soon!
Zmax was definitely a sweet venue! I need to see a major NHRA event there. 30,000+ horsepower four wide would be sick!

i would LOVE to got to the 4 wide nationals! I think that is just pure sickness!
saw it this year!! the noise is crazy. I also saw Pinks All Out there 3 year ago and that was also a lot of fun. Hopefully one day I will get comfortable enough drive a manual and can take it out to the track and run it.
lets just say I live 30 miles away from the track and when all four take off you can still hear it!!
