Thanks, I didn't know 2012 was the last year for the red. I just looked at the site and you can get an automatic in the wrx/sti. I want to throw up I'm so disgusted.
But you wouldn't want that anyway. At least half the fun of driving is changing gears. If all you want to do is lay back and relax, you might just as well get a base model Impreza
I am very impressed by them. Dropped almost an inch all around. I can take tighter turns but you get a bumpier ride. The girl doesn't like it but I don't care haha. I haven't done sways yet. This is the only suspension mod I've done.
I'm saving for a cat back exhaust. P and L, maybe you've heard of them? It's a performance shop in Chicagoland. Anyways they make an awesome exhaust, but it's some 900 dollars I don't have right now. Planning on going stage two pro tuned. Should be fun.
I disabled the day time running lights because they were ugly and I like having complete control if my lights are on or not. ( I know I'm weird that way ). So when you turn the marker lights on the fogs wouldn't turn on, that was a big no no for me. So I ran a wire from my marker light to my fog light. So now when my markers are on my fogs are on, and I turn those on as my day time running lights. Here's a pic. btw I realize this would be a better pic at dusk, I can do so by request.
Hey, nice mod! I agree with you about those fog lights. I was surprised and annoyed to find I couldn't turn them on without also having headlights on full beam. Although, I don't think I'm bothered enough to start running wires, haha.
I see you painted the WRX emblem on the front but not the rear. Any plans? Although red on the back might be too much. Maybe you could plasticoat them both black. Just a thought.
I'm on the fence about plasti dipping it black or just taking it off. I like the red on the front it makes it stand out a little bit. And the front is actually DOT reflective tape I cut to fit the letters. It was a bit of a bear.
Well after months of looking and looking at this site i can finallyled bulbshow off MY new WRX. Proud to have a red hatch because there hard to come by, and I'm ok with that. Well here are the pics!
The dipped wheels are holding up pretty good. I had a problem with them getting clean, but I started using the soap after washing my car and it they came out great. I haven't dropped anymore, I like where I'm at.
Very nice. Aside from the Kartboy STS and bushings I have in the garage, the Bilstein/RCE kit will be the next thing I get for the car.
I know the drop is modest (somewhere between .75" - 1.25"?), but how's the ride quality? I'd imagine it's much less "bouncy", but is it now harsh going over bumps or road imperfections?
Actually to be honest I feel it's the opposite. Now I'm semi new to this stuff so I could just be interpreting it wrong. I feel it's more bouncy. It absorbs bigger bumps much better though. And of course the biggest gain I've noticed is being able to take turns a lot tighter. I can't wait to upgrade ways/end links.
