Got all the part for my camera car rig today:
Manfrotto 244RC Variable Friction Magic Arm
    Manfrotto 035RL Super Clamps
    Avenger F1000 Suction Cups

I used the roof racks to mount the rig on my car, but have the suction cups if I want to photograph other peoples vehicles. I also used a boom from a light stand I didn't use anymore for the pole section that is at the end.

And a very quick test shot, definitely need two people to operate this thing properly.

Finally got around to installing the stereo system. Took longer than I expected, a whole day, but it was first system I've ever installed and wanted it to be clean and right. I think the hardest part was getting the panels off, didn't want to brake anything on my new car lol. I wanted to take good quality photo of the install, but that didn't happen because of a time constraint I had.

    Wiring the harness:

    Me working:

Everything looks messy, but the final install is very very clean:

The amp is held down with Velcro:

AVIC-Z140BH head unit installed with the new bezel:

Audio Integrations sub enclosure and Alpine 10" sub with grill. Also did a DIY floor mat for the back.

Nice, you're making me want to install a system. Post all the audio items you bought, so we doityourselfers can copy.

Nope, the Axxess Steering Wheel Control Interface (Purchased though SVXdc) retains all the controls.

Some more stereo stuff I forgot to add in my previous post. I wanted to keep the stock location for the USB and AUX jack so I took a note from this guy.

    I bought a USB extension cable/mount and a 4-pole 3.5 cable extension.

I took the old proprietary USB and 3.5 AUX hardware out of the center console, which was fairly easy to do. I then dremeled the plate opening bigger for the USB so it would fit, did the same to the AUX. For the AUX cable I bought, I trimmed about an 1/8th - 1/16th inch off plastic off the end of the connector to the metal so that it would sit flush to the plate, and add extra protection so it wont rip out when I pull something out of it. I then hot glued the hell out of it to make sure it stays, which I don't have a photo of it. It looks very clean and you really could never tell that it's not factory.

    So this happened last Friday...

Was heading down to Milwaukee on the freeway when something kicked up and hit the rear drivers side door. Not sure what it was that hit me, but it happened as a red WRX wagon with a roof rack passed me... First new car of 6 months and this happens, never happened to me on my other crappy cars lol

Any recommendation on how/what/where to get it fixed?

ouch, good thing it's just some minor body work. Maybe a dent removal and some touchup paint?

Yeah, could have been much worse. Went around and got some quotes from body shops, going to cost ~$600 to fix...
