I spy a g200...that's what I have...awesome exhaust
Great progress! Do you have your tuning/engine management lined up yet?

Yeah, I can't wait to hear it! I think it's going to be perfect for me.
I haven't quite figured out the tuning yet. I'm having some strange issues connecting to the ECU, so if I don't get that figured out I'm just going to drop it off somewhere, not sure where yet.
Yeah, the manifold was a bit of a pain and took me a long time to complete, but I think it was totally worth it. I really didn't want DBW and being able to keep my ECU was a huge bonus! I'm not hooking up the AVCS, just not worth it to me.
You'd be surprised how easy all of this was. This is really a pretty simple engine! This was a SUPER easy swap without the DBW and AVCS. A few sensor modifications, a few rolls of tape for marking everything you disconnect, and it's pretty much plug and play!
I can't wait to get it started, but this is really just the beginning. I have a ton more work to do. I think I need to let my credit card balance go down a bit before I go any further though![]()

This trunk is amazing.
Well, after some interesting days of trouble shooting I think I've finally found all of the 'issues' with my new engine and should be good to go after I replace 2 of the injectors.
When I first started it I almost crapped my drawers. I guess whoever had this engine before me put some kind of sensors all over the exhaust manifolds, which I did not notice. Those six open holes combined with a really rough running engine that had not been started in years created the loudest car on the planet that I'm sure woke up all of my neighbors. Oops.
It actually took me a long time to figure out just what the hell was going on. The injectors took a little while to figure out as well.
Either way, the engine starts and runs, really rough at the moment, but it works. As soon as I get my hands on a few injectors I think I'll be good to go.
Sparkles to come.![]()

Well, I have now put about 100 miles on the engine with no issues. My brakes are shot and I have a mystery noise coming from somewhere in the transmission I think, but the engine runs well!
For anyone interested - here is a pic of the exhaust manifold sensor holes that scared the crap out of me.
This really surprises me since this engine is basically brand new. It still had the original oil filter on it with some pretty damn clean oil in it. Looking around I'd really be surprised if this engine had 1,000 miles on it.
Next step is an alignment and a few recall issues at the dealership on Friday then a tune on Saturday. Then I guess I'll start looking for a transmission to get rebuilt. Brakes would be nice too![]()
Congrats on the successful swap!!! That is one spectacular motor you picked up!
Congratulations on a job well executed.
