I went and traded my 2008 Kawasaki Concours 1400 on a NEW 2009 GSXR 750 and yes I said new. It has been sitting on the showroom floor for two years waiting on me to come pick her up.

That's awesome! Make me miss my 2008 GSX-R 600 (I crashed her when the front end washed out from under me at a mountain road). Thank god to a full leather suit I walked away unscathed. Those high revving and highly responsive small displacement four bangers are a technological marvel. I want to pick up another RR 600 or a twin 650 eventually. Enjoy and be careful.

Thanks everybody I put 150 miles on it the first day I got it so hopefully the weather will hold up so I can get through the break in period. It so hard trying to keep it under 7K while shifting because that's where the power starts coming on and it starts pulling really good but so far I am loving it. It is so light compared to the Concours, it makes me wonder what the hell I was thinking when I sold my Ninja 636 .

I am going to get an exhaust but I don't need the rest of that stuff because I never do tricks I like keeping both wheels on the ground. Hahahahaha

IMO, the first thing you should get are frame sliders to keep her pretty.

Wondering if the Conny14 might've spoiled you due to instantly available torque (then again, you're still within the break-in period with your 750). I made a big leap from riding 600s exclusively to getting a 1000cc twin (an SV1000S), adding in a 16-17yr break in riding. I thought about a GSXR750, but wanted something a bit different too.

I LOVE the torque, as well as the twin sound. I can do corners too. Some say the stock suspension on my bike is **** but the PO installed a gsxr750 front end and brakes, as well as a 750 rear shock...but I'm still learning this bike, so that is probably overkill for me anyways.

There are plenty of non-stunter mods you can do. You will be bitten by the mod bug. If you get an exhaust, you might need a tune (if you go full exhaust). You might be able to get away with a Power Commander and find an OTS map for whatever pipe you get. Will you get a full exhaust or just a slip-on?

Oh, and was your Conny modded any?

I got some Suzuki frame sliders, Vortex swingarm spindles, swingarm stand, and a bike cover today.



The bike was four days old before I was taking it apart and drilling a hole in the plastic.

Good choice on the frame sliders and fork protectors... you never plan for an accident but you should always be prepared.

I was about 64° Sunday so I got to ride a good bit but it was only about 39° today so I only got in about 35 miles before I started to get to cold. So far I have went 225 miles out of the 600 mile break-in. I hate short shifting I am so ready to see what she can do
