    Annihilator817's 2011 WRX

I picked up this WR Blue Mica 2011 WRX Sedan this past Saturday. Great car, I'm really enjoying it. I'm coming from a Civic Si most and its a nice switch. Though it doesn't handle as well as the Si, its certainly a better daily driver. Subaru has really stepped up the build quality since I owned my last Impreza (2007MY). I plan to do some local and regional autocrossing in D Stock over the next few years. Aside from a larger FSB, and possibly upgraded dampers, I have no plans to modify this car in any way whatsoever.

    Current Modifications:

    Port Installed-
    SPT Short Shifter
    SPT CF Trunk Trim
    OEM Fog Lights

    Drivetrain-
    Perrin Drop-In Foam Filter

    Cobb AccessPORT

    Suspension-

    Perrin 22mm Rear Adj. Swaybar
    Perrin Adj. Rear Endlinks
    Subaru 19mm Front Swaybar
    Perrin 25mm Front Adj. Swaybar
    Perrin Front Endlinks

    Wheels/Tires-
OE WRX wheels w/ 265/40R17 Dunlop Direzza Z1 *Spec
    17x8 +47 Drag DR-38 w/ 275/40/17 Hoosier A6
Intercomp 4" 0-60 PSI Tire Gauge

    Brakes-

Thank you. I have an idea of what the car is capable of doing and what parts are available for my purposes. Unfortunately, the parts I've mentioned are probably going to be either something you do not distribute, or one off's. There is a guy that runs in my region that has lots of experience with building and setting up Motons, so I that is likely the route I will go. As for the front swaybar, correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe that all of the 08-11 STI bars will fit the 11 WRX. I'm probably looking for something adjustable and in the 28mm-32mm range. I don't know if there are any OTS bars available that meet my criteria, so I may have to have one fabbed up. I've heard that the car can fit 295/35/17 Hoosiers, but I'll probably stay conservative for the time being and go with a 275/40/17.

Anyway, thanks for the offer but unless you are a Moton or Hoosier distributor, I'm probably not going to be much of a customer.

Just wondering, as a daily driver, and negative effects with tires that wide? Car looks great, love WRB!

    Drop in MPG, tramlining.

I managed 31.2mpg on the OE tires on a 100 mile trip last November (mostly hwy, but some city). Now I struggle to get 25mpg/hwy. (edit: I neglected to mention that I believe that part of that drop in MPG was also due to the switchover to the winter blend of gasoline. )

And with wide tires, you get some tramlining, which is basically the tires following any groove or depression in the road.

Other than that, wide tires are bad for winter conditions, and summer tires are useless in winter conditions, though in that respect I had the last laugh this year

This really isn't a DD for me, I've got a couple other cars, this is more of a dedicated autocross car, so none of those issues factor into any of my setup decisions.....because racecar

There is a very large SCCA chapter in Philly, go check it out. This is an easy sport to get into, no experience necessary. I believe they have their first event this weekend.

Philadelphia Region SCCA - Mini Of The Main Line Solo Summer Series Events

I've also compiled a few FAQs about autox.

This sport dies without new participants, so go give it a try, you won't regret it!

I'm definitely going to be interested once I get to know the car a little better...or at least until I get past the break-in period

Autocross is a great way to get to know your car. And if you don't want a car that drinks oil, break it in hard.
