My First Subaru. 02' WRX Wagon

    Hey all,

I just bought a silver 02 wagon today. I'm loving it so far and it is a HUGE improvement over my first car. I hope to take it up to the snow really soon and have some adventures.

I think I got a pretty good deal on it. Paid 6.5k w/ 95000 miles, new tires, new brakes, and some other goodies. Wagon is completely stock which is a plus as well. I plan on doing some minor cosmetic upgrades and saving the real money for when the Turbo needs to be replaced.

    This car is awesome!

Curse YOU! Haha, I was going to buy this but the guy said that he had sold it. Wait Bay Area, right? And if so, then good buy. The car looked great and had a great price.

Yeah that's the one. I got really lucky. I guess the guy received 25 emails on Sunday, some of which offered 7K and up for it.

Thanks. The car is bone stock save for the K&N air filter. I plan on starting with some easy, simple body mods. Maybe some silver skirts and some mud flaps. I really like the look. As far as suspension and drivetrain, I plan to hold off for awhile. The turbo is working great but I know they only last 120k or something so here are my options.

GT3076R Turbo Kit for Subaru WRX/STI, stock location - INTERNALLY GATED : atpturbo.com

Subaru Impreza WRX Perrin GT3076R Rotated Turbo Kit, Subaru Impreza WRX Perrin GT3582R Rotated Turbo Kit, Subaru Impreza WRX Agency Power Stainless Steel Turbo Inlet, Subaru Impreza WRX AMR T50R and T60R Turbos, Subaru Impreza WRX AMR Turbo Inlet for

Turbo Kits for the Subaru WRX from HorsepowerFreaks

I might want a smaller turbo so I don't need the front mounted intercooler (more expensive), but it will cost me anyway. Maybe an up/down pipe as well? For now, I am going to do a basic engine bay steam clean and oil change, etc.

Lastly, a friend of mine is suggesting a headlight replacement. He mentions the JDMs saying they give the bugeyes a wider more aggressive looking stance. What are your thoughts? I will look into the wagon thread for sure! BTW "2002_wagon" your ride looks awesome. I was holding out for a WRB but this silver one popped up at such a good price, I had to take it.

    Thanks

before spending all that cash being dropped I advice upgrading the tranny first ra gears or tranny swap if not you will have a 300+whp beast that has no gears and sits in the drive way.

Well, first of all, if I had the cash, then it would go into the car. I was under the impression that the 02' gearboxes shattered from hard launched and general hoonage, but in bringing the power up to or surpassing a stock STI, I agree that I will have gear soup for dinner and it will taste like failure.
