Nice comparison. I don't like the Subaru exhaust finishers on the 11 (or any car for that matter) but I do like the quad-tip exhaust look.

My first recommendation is to get overlays for the tails. Makes a HUGE difference and is well worth the money...mine make me smile every time I see them.

I agree that the turbo in the '11 is nicely paired with the engine. It's extremely responsive but does seem to build boost more slowly than I'm used to (coming from a modded Evo). But with all of the 2.5L torque already there you don't need the turbo as much as you do in a 2L.

And as for cold startup, my Perrin sounds nice and mean and I love it. It's a lil louder but it's not offensive to the neighbors.

Aside from it sharing the general body lines of a Toyota Corolla/Matrix with a hood scoop? I'll agree on the basis that aping Toyota has resulted in a better looking car.

Just went to the Subaru and Toyota sites. The front page for both the Matrix and the Impreza WRX specifically.

    Similarities:

Lines - across the doors, fender flares, window shapes, roofline

    Differences:

Lines - less distance between door and fender lines, more aggressive fender flares, black plastic fill panel replaced with glass, hood scoop, driveline, boxer, driver involvement, ALL WHEEL DRIVE...

Damn I gotta get my WRX back on the road!

I know, right? I wasn't a fan when the '08 look came out, but the combination of time (for it to grow on me) and the more aggressive looks of the 2011 have turned me around to some degree.

Thats exactly how I feel. When I was looking at the side by side I really preferred the looks of the 2011, I feel that it is more aggressive looking. If only I would have waited a bit and got a 2011 instead of my 2009 (love those fender flares), but I'm not complaining at all...I love my wrx!!!

Same here...I was honestly very close to buying an Evo or slightly used S4...and then I heard about the updates to the base wrx body style and STI sedan finally being offered again. I never really liked the 08+ WRXs with very flat body panels, nor the STI 5-door.

After doing my research, I actually decided the WRX was better value for my driving habits than an STI...hooray updated styling on the WRX for saving me $15k!

Ooh,hang on. That is the throb of a turbocharged flat four engine. A sound which, all over the world, heralds the imminent arrival of a moron - JC.
