x2 I'd like a print of that. Its a beautiful shot, but then again I haven't seen any pics posted from Armin that aren't great shots. I'm not a pro, but to the honest man's eye thats good stuff.

Were you out in the middle of nowhere?

I don't get how you could get such clarity with a 17-55mm. I've never seen that many stars in my life.

Rattlesnake Lake is only about 45 min east of Seattle It's far enough way that no city lights get in the way.

And well, that's why my 17-55mm retails for about $1300 Focal length has little to nothing to do with clarity...it's much more about the glass and camera body themselves.

works now, got both links to work after a few tries.

Def going to buy a 30x20 print.. gotta save a lil side dough first though I have some closing costs that are taking priority atm. This shot will be a very nice addition to the new place!

Sweet Jesus that's an expensive lens!

Yeah, we don't stars like that anywhere around here. Even the suburbs 1 hours outside of Chicago are too bright for stars like that. Only time I got close to seeing the sky absolutely riddled with stars was driving through the middle of Ohio several years ago at 1am.

Most pro-level lenses are going to cost in the $1000+ range. Exceptions to this are some of the shorter primes, like the 50mm ƒ1.4 (around $350ish) or the 85mm ƒ1.4 (around $800ish).

And you thought cars were an expensive hobby?

Man, I keep digging myself too deep.

Between golfing, firearms, cars, and now photography I am picking up some of the more expensive hobbies out there.
